9/27 U.S. Homefront

ABC Video and Ch. 18 S1 are supporting materials. Entrance Ticket for 9/28: 1. How did rationing help the war effort? 2.Explain why inflation occurred during the war and how the government tried to fight it. 3. How did the War Productions Board meet the challenge of supplying the Allies as the Arsenal of Democracy? 4.What are some of the advantages and disadvantages that society experienced as a result of having women enter the work force during WWII? 5. Why was information controlled about the war and allied troop movements? 6. How did the U.S. pay for the war? Summary---Try to put yourselves in the shoes of a teenager during the war. Your father is overseas and your mother just took a job in a defense factory. How would your life be affected by the war effort?
